Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information is collected when you use the website bateljewelry.com, for what purpose, to whom it is transferred, how long it is kept and what rights you have. It was written in accordance with the Protection of Privacy Law, 5741–1981, including Amendment 13, and describes what the website actually does.
Who is responsible for the information
Database owner and controller of the information: Haim Uzan, Business no. 015573223, operating under the trade name Batel Jewelry, 64 Bilu St., Rehovot.

What information is collected and why
Orders and purchases
Ordering and payment take place in the Wix platform's checkout. At checkout you provide your name, phone, email, shipping address and payment details. The information is used to process the order, for shipping, for after-sales service and to comply with the obligations that apply to us by law. Credit card details are captured by the payment processors and are not stored by us in full.
The Dream Corner
For us to draw a ring or pendant for you, you provide your name, mobile phone and email, and accept the privacy policy. You may also tick, at your choice, consent to receive updates and offers. The details are stored in the shop's Wix system together with the description you wrote and the choices you made, and our goldsmith uses them to get back to you with a price, gold weight and production time.
The description you wrote, and a photo if you uploaded one, are sent to OpenAI in the USA solely for the drawing, without your name, phone and email. OpenAI keeps them for up to 30 days. The website itself does not keep the photo you sent or the drawings created.
At the end of the process you can continue designing in ChatGPT. The description is passed there only if you click the link, and then OpenAI's terms and privacy policy apply to it.
Contact form
In the form on the Contact page you provide your name, phone, email and the content of your enquiry. The details are stored in the shop's Wix system and are used only to respond to the enquiry.
WhatsApp, phone and email
When you contact us on WhatsApp, by phone or by email, including a cancellation notice, we receive what you send and your contact details, and use them to answer you and provide service. WhatsApp messages pass through Meta's WhatsApp service, and emails are received in Google's Gmail mailbox.
Newsletter
Newsletter sign-up is sent to us as an email message from your email app, and includes your email address and your consent to receive updates and offers. The address is used only to send updates about collections and offers. To remove yourself from the list, write to us by email or on WhatsApp at any time.
Cookies and measurement
The website stores information in your browser that is essential for its operation: the cart identifier with Wix, the ring size you selected, display preferences and your choice in the cookie banner, with the date of the choice. This information stays on your device, and the cart identifier is sent to Wix only to operate the cart and checkout.
Google Analytics is activated only if you clicked “Accept” in the cookie banner. It measures which pages and products were viewed, additions to the cart and clicks on contact buttons, together with technical data such as device and browser type and approximate location. We use measurement only to improve the website. The website has no advertising cookies and no advertising tags.
If you chose “Essential only”, Google Analytics is not loaded, and any Google Analytics measurement cookies saved previously are deleted. You can change your choice at any time via the link at the bottom of every page.
Technical information
The website is hosted by Vercel, a US company. As with any website, the servers process the IP address and technical data of each request in order to display the website, protect it and prevent abuse, for example limiting the number of drawings in The Dream Corner.
Is it mandatory to provide the information
There is no legal obligation to provide us with information. Providing it depends on your will and consent. However, without contact and shipping details we cannot complete an order, without contact details we cannot draw in The Dream Corner or get back to you, and without an email address we cannot send you updates.
Who the information is transferred to
We transfer information only to the providers through which the website and the shop operate, and only to the extent required by each of them:
- Wix — the shop platform: cart, checkout, order management, forms and the customer list.
- Payment processors and the payment methods at checkout (credit card, PayPal and bit) — to process the payment.
- OpenAI — the drawing in The Dream Corner: the description and photo only.
- Google — measurement in Google Analytics, only with your consent, and the Gmail mailbox in which emails and newsletter sign-ups are received.
- Meta — the WhatsApp service, when you contact us through it.
- Vercel — website hosting.
- The courier company we work with — name, phone and address for delivery.
- Competent authorities — when required by law.
We do not sell the information and do not transfer it to a third party for that party's own marketing purposes.
Transfer of information outside Israel
Some of the providers operate outside Israel, so information may be stored or processed abroad: with OpenAI, Google, Vercel and Meta, which operate in the USA, and with Wix, on servers that may be outside Israel. The transfer is made only for the purpose of providing the service. The transfer is made in accordance with the provisions of law applicable to the transfer of information outside Israel.
How long the information is kept
- Orders: for as long as necessary for the purpose for which the information was collected and in accordance with legal requirements.
- Enquiries and details from The Dream Corner and the contact form, in the Wix system: for as long as necessary for the purpose for which the information was collected and in accordance with legal requirements.
- The description and photo from The Dream Corner, with OpenAI: up to 30 days.
- The newsletter list: until you ask to be removed.
- WhatsApp messages and emails: for as long as necessary for the purpose for which the information was collected and in accordance with legal requirements.
- Google Analytics data: for the retention period set in the Google Analytics account, after which Google deletes it automatically.
- The essential information in the browser and the cookie choice: until you delete them from the browser.
Your rights
Under the Protection of Privacy Law you may review the information held about you, and ask for it to be corrected if it is not accurate, complete, clear or up to date, or for it to be deleted. You may also ask at any time that we stop sending you advertising material.
To exercise these rights, contact us by phone 052-6978558, by email bateljewelry5@gmail.com or in writing to 64 Bilu St., Rehovot. To protect your information, we may ask to verify your identity before we provide or change information. We will respond to the request within the time period set by law.
If you believe your request was not handled properly, you may contact the Privacy Protection Authority.
Information security
The website is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Payment takes place on Wix's secure checkout page, and credit card details are not stored by us. Access keys to external services are kept on the server and are not exposed in the browser. Access to the information is restricted to the business owners.
Changes to the policy
We will update the policy when the way the website uses information changes, and will state the date of the update at the top of the page. If the change concerns cookies, we will ask for your consent again in the cookie banner.
